Psalm 56:8New Living Translation (NLT)

8 You keep track of all my sorrows.
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book.

My name and tears in the same sentence is something of an oddity. It rarely happens. I decided long ago that my energies are best spent elsewhere.

But today I cried.

No, no one died, my kids are well, my husband is doing fine. But today I cried.

I’m generally a positive person, I always encourage everyone, I am never short on words; especially God’s words. People call, text, email me frequently to pray and encourage them.

Today, I am finding the strength to encourage myself.

No matter what life throws your way, God is still God. He has still been better to me than I been to myself, He is still my God. He is still my provider, he continues to make ways out of no way.

The scripture above says that God collects every tear and keeps them. You only keep things that are precious to you. I didn’t fully understand that I was keeping something that was precious to God from him…my tears.

God knows your sorrows, your hurts, your disappointments, your concerns. He loves you enough to keep up with every time you shed a tear.

The word says God is close to the brokenhearted…and through tears I’ve never felt closer to HIM.
