Luke 5:5-6New International Version (NIV)
5 Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.
I love this.
We can work at something all night and get no results. But the moment God says SO, we can do the very same thing thing we have done all night ( all our lives, careers etc) and suddenly we have abundance.
the difference is God saying SO.
I don’t know about you but I spent a lot of time doing the right things at the wrong times. During these times- things never lined all the way up, frustration would set in, then despair. You know in your heart WHAT to do, but knowing WHEN to do it goes hand in hand.
In the scripture above we see the fishermen knew WHAT to do, and they worked hard all night doing it. It was only when God got involved that they were able to be successful at what they already knew how to do.
This shows me that I already have everything I need to DO what I am called to do, I have the idea, I have the equipement, I have the tools, I even have the people…I just need need God to say SO.
