Luke 6:38New International Version (NIV)

38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

The scripture begins with the word GIVE.

But I want to look at it from a different angle. Make Room.

Most people have way to many clothes then they are able to wear, but we hang on to them ( just in case) as if we will never get another sweater, pair of jeans, or we need another pair of black shoes.
We constantly add more to our collection, we hoard our blessings. We squirrel them away often boasting about how much we have.
Then we find ourselves with cluttered closets we have no more ROOM.

We have failed to realize that in order to receive the latter half of the scripture we have to Make Room- one way to do this is to give ( or get rid of)

The show hoarders opened up a whole new world for me- had I been hoarding? canceling out the scripture above?
Wait DeShannon, isn’t this scripture talking about giving money? Hasn’t every preacher in America used that as a manipulation tool to get people to put more money in the basket.?

There is more to giving than just money.

The scripture says to GIVE, and it will come back to you. Which is liberating in itself its lets us know that we can never truly lose anything that belongs to us, if we let it go it will come back- better

So go on, give it away, make room for the overflow, make room for new Blessings.
