Philippians 4:8New Living Translation (NLT)

8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

It is so easy for us to be consumed with the “situation of the moment”
We have devoted all our waking moments stressing over our troubles.

We are praying, crying, crying, praying, worrying, wringing our hands, we are trying our best to stay strong but our thoughts can overtake us

Some days we can do pretty good, then on other days the fear of “what am I going to do” completely engulfs us.

The scripture is clear…we have to think of other things.
I know, I know, when you have a financial crisis that could destroy your family, or a diagnosis that doesn’t have a clear favorable outcome, you just lost your job, marital problems, children issues, on the job problems, a death of a loved one-the list could go on…how are you suppose to think about anything else. ?

The scripture is still clear.
Trouble doesn’t last always, it’s such a small part of life.
If you have lived 20 years and had 1 whole year of trouble
that means you have had 19 GOOD years, what’s 1 compare to 19.
what about if you have lived to be 40 and had 3 bad years thats STILL 37 good years. I love those odds.

This maybe a difficult day, week, month, quarter, or year but does it compare to all the wonderful things that has happened in your life?
No, it doesn’t.

My good continues to outweigh my bad.
Today no matter what I am facing I will think on things worthy of praise.
