Whew, sometimes you really want to tell your mind to STFU…(shut the F@#K up)
I know, thats not very Christian thing to say but your mind can really get on your nerves sometimes.
Your mind will constantly remind you of everything that’s going wrong.
Yes, money is low
Yes, bills are due
Yes, the doctor said it was bad
Yes, my kid is acting crazy
Yes, my job is downsizing
Yes, the bill collectors are calling
Yes, they are cheating
Yes, Yes, Yes….geeeze
but I want you to tell your mind to SHUT UP ( without the F word)
the bible tells us to think on things that are good and true, not bad and awful
Philippians 4:8New Living Translation (NLT)
8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
You have got to get tough with your mind, refuse to be miserable when you can think of other things.
For me I can’t think and sing at the same time so I SING to quiet my mind.
I also like to pick the above scripture apart.
I think of something that is true
honorable
right
pure and lovely
admirable
and what is worthy to be praised.
These don’t have to be spiritual things, something pure could be a baby; something lovely could be a flower.
don’t give into your mind when it’s acting like it can’t remember what God has done for you
God can show up suddenly and turn your situation around.
He is THE worthy to be praised part of the scripture.
In spite of everything crashing down around you, God will not leave you or forsake you. God is concerned with what concerns you.
When your mind says you can’t
tell your mind “but GOD CAN”
