Colossians 3:23-24New Living Translation (NLT)
23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 24 Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ
Do we really work on our daily jobs as if God is our boss?
Would you come in late, take an early lunch, leave a few minutes early if God was in the corner office right down the hall?
Would you spread the office gossip?
Turn co-workers against each other?
Be the office bully?
What if God walked into the break room where you where discussing what you did last night? Would he be pleased with what he heard?
What about that project that was due last week, that you have now passed off to someone else?
Would you be on your cell phone playing games, or texting all day?
The scripture is very clear you work for God- even on your job.
I know what it’s like to have a not so bright boss, an I’m God boss, and a “I don’t care what you do boss”
So I know I have been slack on some jobs over the years.
No one asked what kind of boss do you have, that is not relevant.
You want your reward ( your paycheck) to come from God.
He is watching you. How would he evaluate your performance. Would you get a raise in the form of an answered prayer? Or would he extend your probation and not answer you for another 90 days.
