Philippians 2:4New Living Translation (NLT)
4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others.
It is easy to get caught up in your own “personalized” world. Face it, your immediate family is your number 1 priority, right? You surely can’t be bothered with the needs of others except for the occasional prayer request from a friend, or the change you so generously gave from your ashtray (because there was no way you were giving that bum a twenty)
There are many opportunities in a day to “look out for others”
Could you have paid it forward at the drive thru by paying for the food in the car directly behind you? Could you have let your unemployed friend know that they are hiring at the local business? Could you have picked up the phone and checked on someone? Could you have let that car go in front of you that has been waiting to turn? The list goes on. You get the picture.
Maybe none of this applies to you. But it applies to me.
Helping you, helps me. What I do for you, God does for me.
Look for ways to help people and watch God repay you with a check full of blessings.
