24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.

This is the scripture that I needed today!

When will we be able to rest in the midst of our storms? Even when the water is above our head the Jesus within should allow us to rest. After all HE is our PEACE.

Storms rarely give us advanced notice. They show up unannounced and without warning. It can get so bad until we feel as if we are drowning. This is where we have to put what we feel and what we know to be truth to the test.

Lets look at the FACTS vs our FEELINGS

Although we feel like we aren’t going to make it, the fact of the matter is GOD has never failed us. He has NEVER not come through. He has not left us comfortless and we can have what we believe and say we can have.

Jesus understood these truths which allowed him to sleep during our storms.

Hold up! Isn’t Jesus supposed to be watching out for us? Sure he is, but he KNOWS that there is nothing to be concerned about. Stop stressing, stop freaking out, it may look like a storm to us but what is it to God?

Trouble (storms) will come. No one is exempt. Some storms last a few minutes, some much longer. Some brings what we consider tragic events but through them all Jesus is still with us. What we don’t want is for ANY storm to come near us. We want sunny skies and beach weather everyday of our unworthy lives. We don’t ever want to get wet.

Even in the middle of our greatest storm, become like Jesus…unbothered.

Just tell the storm to go away.
