Philippians 4:5Living Bible (TLB)

5 Let everyone see that you are unselfish and considerate in all you do.

When did Christians become selfish and inconsiderate!

The nerve of me to suggest that we holy, saved, santified, filled with the Holy Spirit, washed in the blood of the lamb are anything but.

Now if you are perfect in your faith, stop reading now- this one isn’t for you. I will write again tomorrow and you can read that one.

To the rest of us -why do we have to be reminded to be unselfish and considerate.

Sin Amnesia may be the root cause. We have been forgiven and we have forgot.

Let’s look at the definition(s)

un·self·ish adjective \ˌən-ˈsel-fish\
: having or showing more concern for other people than for yourself : not selfish

con·sid·er·ate adjective \kən-ˈsi-d(ə-)rət\
: thinking about the rights and feelings of other people : showing kindness toward other people

This is a self check moment.
Other than your immediate family; how often do we line up with these definitions.

I know, I know, you’re nice, you smile at strangers, you allow other cars to pull out in front of you, you have forgiven everyone who has hurt you, you even sponsor a hungry child in a foreign country. Yes, I get it but these gestures although honorable are controlled.

What about the natural way you think, how are you with other ethnic groups, other religions, other sexual orientations, other SINNERS. People not like you.

This scriptures doesn’t say

Let everyone CHRISTIANS see that you are unselfish and considerate in all you do.

It said let EVERYONE see.

What do people see when they see you.
