Psalm 29:11New International Version (NIV)

11 The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace.

If we are blessed with peace, then why do we worry so much.

Anxiety causes us to be weak, it literally robs us of joy. We often lose a considerable amount of sleep, we either lose our appetite or over endulge.

We devote countless mental hours going back and forth, replaying it over and over like a VHS tape on rewind. Some of us can’t even find the strength to get up out the bed or if we do get up- getting dressed takes too much effort.

If we are indeed God’s people who has taken our strength and peace.
Some will say “the devil” but I say “you have”

You have made yourself weak with worry and doubt. You have replaced peace with fear.

You have not seen the value in the gift The Lord has given you. Why?
Because you are still relying on your own ability, your own version of strength, your own definition of peace.

Why is it so hard to accept what God gives us?
Every time we worry we tell God that he can’t fix this problem for us. We throw his gift of strength and peace right out the window.

I don’t know about you, but shouldn’t we be throwing anxiety, worry and fear out the window instead. Those are things God DID NOT give us.

You are strong, because God has already given you the strength you need.
You have peace, for the same reason above.

You don’t have to keep asking for it, you may have to go find where you threw it.
