Psalm 95:2New International Version (NIV)

2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving

Has God’s blessings become so common that we have forgotten to say “thank you”

Scroll back up to the picture and let that sink in.
When you go to God do you immediately start asking for more “stuff”
Yes, I know some of us have major needs that only God can change, myself included. But have I fully thanked God for what he has already done.

The scripture says to come before him with “thanksgiving”
Thank him for the things that we take for granted, the things we expect to always be there, the “simple” things.

Don’t be like the lepers in this bible story
Luke 17:11-19New International Version (NIV)

11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.

15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

Are we the 9 who got what we needed from God and keep walking or will we be the 1 to say “thank you”

Some of the sweetest prayers of thanksgiving come from children, they thank God for everything: grass, trees, friends, teachers, toys, bath water, juice…( you get the picture)

Before you ask God for more…tell him thank you or what you have.
