Psalms 1:6New Living Translation (NLT)

6 For the Lord watches over the path of the godly,
but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

Often we get so comfortable that we forget to watch our steps. We get wrapped up in our own Praise Party and we lose sight of whats lurking around. We forget to “watch as well as pray”

Now don’t get it twisted, I’m not suggesting you take on a spirit of fear! But I am telling you to keep your eyes open to hidden danger.

Ever stepped in some “mess” ? The reason this happens is simply because you were not looking where you were walking. The mess could be chewing gum, dog poo, bad relationships, gossip gone wrong, or something else. They all have 1 thing in common…all couldve been avoided by “watching where you were going” No matter what you stepped in it can be HELL getting out.

Let’s take the chewing gum, look at the mess it makes on your shoes, you find yourself literally scrubbing your shoe back and forth trying to remove as much of it as possible, it takes a while, sometimes the evidence is still there making walking difficult. The mess is stuck on you.

Let’s take the gossip, you stepped right in the middle, offered your 2 cents and now the only part getting told is your part. You try to distance yourself but you are also stuck. Smack dab in the middle of a mess. It can be difficult to move from this as well.

Yes, yes you are to keep walking, but be careful not to get distracted, something as small as gum or as big as gossip can keep you from making the all important NEXT step.

God is indeed watching over you, but you have to keep yourself from falling – by watching where you’re going.
