Ephesians 5:14New Living Translation (NLT)

14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said,

“Awake, O sleeper,
rise up from the dead,
and Christ will give you light.”

This morning I woke up very early and couldn’t go back to sleep. I was taught a long time ago that when this happens “God is trying to tell you something”

I fought off the urge to grab my phone and check Facebook. I layed there in the darkness…silent.

It was during this time I began to think of all the things I have missed because I was sleep. No, not physically sleep but soul sleep.

Sometimes I want to stay in the dark, the light can expose some things I am not ready to deal with.

Ever had a bad headache-? the first place you run to is a dark room.

Ever been depressed? darkness is depressions best friend

Ever needed to end a toxic relationship? ignoring ALL the warning signs- yep thats Darkness

How long have I chosen to “stay in the dark” about certain situations and circumstances when Christ has given me the way out- the light.

My office faces the window and this morning the sun was shining so bright I couldn’t see. All I could see was the light. And folks, that’s exactly WHAT I needed to see.

If I keep my eyes on Christ, I don’t ever have to worry about being in darkness. He is all I need- he lights the way. His way IS the only way.

Had I been sleep to this revelation until now?

Who knows, all that matters is that I am now fully awake.
