Proverbs 19:21New Living Translation (NLT)

21 You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.

We often quote the “ask anything in my name” scripture but how many of us have consulted God before making your request known?

This scriptures puts a lot of things into perspective for me. I am forever declaring and decreeing but am I consulting?

I am not shy about asking for things, I even detail them out. I am telling God what I want him to do. Fully expecting the results I have asked for.

Is this wrong? Not really.

The scripture says go on and make your plans, but if it’s not the perfect plan it will not work out. This is where we begin to question God and have hurt feelings because God didn’t do what we wanted him to. We are now trying to control and manipulate the God we serve.

Just as children, you don’t always get EVERYTHING you ask for. God knows the plans he has for you to prosper you and give you a hope and a future. If your plans don’t line up with the scripture, than guess what? You’re not getting it.

The best way to ensure to get what you ask for is to only want what God wants for you.
