Proverbs 18:2 New Living Translation (NLT)
2 Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions.
April 1st is affectionately known as April’s Fools’ Day, a day where pranksters put sticky notes on backs, whoopee cushions in chairs or spray silly string. But many of us “act a fool” on a daily basis.
Think on the countless times you have received unsolicited opinions from someone who had no idea what was really going on. The more you tried to make them understand the more frustrated you became. This person has no desire to understand their only purpose is to “air their opinion”
I’ve heard over and over the statement ” I have a right to my own opinion” and in some ways I agree with you, but you are missing a vital component of your statement. MY means its yours and yours only, and personally I would prefer you keep it to yourself.
Social media had made it easy to hide behind screen names and spew often venomous opinions aimed at inflicting pain to the recipient. We have lost all understanding that WORDS do HURT. These words are so heavy they have formed into real “sticks and stones” crushing spirit after spirit, feeling like bone.
So today and everyday check yourself to see if your words have “understanding” or are you just giving your own opinion become a April Fool everyday.
