Isaiah 43:2-3 English Standard Version (ESV)
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
3 For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.(a)
It’s so easy to think this next crisis you are going through will be the one to “finish” you. You’ve cried and prayed, asked others to pray and NOTHING seems to elevate the pain thats grows in your heart and the situation just isn’t getting any better.
The enemy wants you to believe that God has forgotten you. Even Jesus cried out asking the question of WHY?
We sometimes forget that we have to go through. Going through is a bootcamp for battles not yet seen. Through is the prep work for things to come. It is a time of great discipline. It is a hard time, an uncomfortable time, a seemingly never ending time.
But take comfort in the scripture above.
God already gave us a heads up that we are going to go through some things. It’s not a matter of IF it’s a matter of when. Shoot the word through has ROUGH in it so you already know it will be difficult.
We do, however, have this to remember.
1. Our troubles/problems will not kill us
2. God will be with us
So keep going, don’t stop because of how you’re feeling right now. You’re feelings are LYING to you. God has NOT left you to make it on your own. He has already assured you that you won’t drown in your sorrow or get burned by your fires.
If you or someone you know is having a hard time today, give them this scripture to memorize!
God has not forgotten you, he sees your tears he feels your pain. He is right there making sure you get to the other side of through.
I love the post. And I feel you have touched on a very important topic as well. Remember Christ came for the sick and not the well, though this is a spiritual reference to health it works as well for the physical. It’s not about being perfect but overcoming the obstacles life likes to put in your way. It is only when our metal is tested that it becomes hardened and we become instruments of usefulness like a sword of truth. In the hands of a master tested metal can cut through anything, hence the story of Excalibur, the unbreakable sword of truth. Only through testing do things become strong. it’s almost as if it were a curse to go too long without something to play the villain so that the hero inside you can emerge.
So I say blessed are the weak for they will find strength in measures well beyond anyone already healthy can ever comprehend. Amen & keep on being strong!
