Ecclesiastes 7:20-22New International Version (NIV)
20 Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous, no one who does what is right and never sins.
21 Do not pay attention to every word people say, or you may hear your servant cursing you—
22 for you know in your heart that many times you yourself have cursed others.
Wow, everyone should have the same reaction that I had when I came across this scripture. Except of course those who are without sin and have never once even stumbled a little.
This scripture is just a reminder that we are “quick” to get upset when someone does ANYTHING to us but selectively forget that we are doing “something” or have done “something” to someone at sometime.
We want God and people to forgive us, but we hold on to grudges as if they are an heirloom. We can “remember when” for decades.
Today, let’s take a look in the mirror and do some reflecting. No, not on what others have done to us but what WE have done to others. The mirror can fog up pretty quickly if we are honest with ourselves.
Mirror, Mirror on the wall
Lord forgive me as I forgive them ALL.
