Genesis 3:10-11 New International Version (NIV)
10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”
11 And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? (a)
This story of the “Fall of MAN” has many, many “aha” moments but this scripture is my focus of the morning.
After Eve and Adam had eaten of the tree of knowledge they “noticed” they were naked. They begin to hide and cover up. When God asks where are you, Adam begins to explain WHY he is hiding. He states he is naked. God in turn asks him “who told you that!”
Being naked hadn’t been a problem on yesterday or any other day until ADAM decided that he should cover himself. Adam decided in his own mind that God shouldn’t see him naked. He ( Adam) determined being naked was something to be ashamed of. Adam created his own fear. He created his own set of rules and therefore created his own negative reaction. What he thought became what he was.
So I ask you, “who told you that?”
Who told you that you were going to fail?
Who told you that you were not good enough?
Who told you that you couldn’t be successful?
Who told you that you were going to die?
Who told you that you couldn’t or shouldn’t be wealthy?
Who told you that you couldn’t write a book?
Who told you that you were unqualified?
Who told that you were naked and should be covered up?
Who told you that?
If the answer to my questions is anyone other than GOD ALMIGHTY, you have been misinformed!
You have created an unnecessary reaction to a nonexistent problem. It is not so, until God says so!
Be encouraged…
