Job 6:24 New Living Translation (NLT)

24 Teach me, and I will keep quiet. Show me what I have done wrong.

quiet

It’s a common phrase to say ” we ALL have sinned and come short of God’s glory” This statement is true. But have you learned from “coming short” Have you wanted anyone let alone God show you where you went wrong.

Many of my “wrong doings” are a direct result of “couldn’t nobody tell me nothing” I wanted to make my own rules, do things my very own way. After all, I know what’s best for me right? WRONG!

In any form of schooling the teacher doesn’t allow talking while they’re teaching. The majority of the time we are to sit quietly and listen. There is little movement during the lesson because the slightest fidget will disrupt the flow. There are times when you are allowed to ask questions. Even then you must raise you hand and wait to be acknowledged.

During our lessons from God, have we sat quietly and listened to his instructions and correction? Have we focused all our attention on the teacher? Are we easily distracted by the least bit of movement? Is the TV still on when we are trying to study? Are the kids calling your name? Has the cares of the day robbed God of his attention? What about when you speak to him, are your hands lifted in praise? Are you speaking in respectable tones or in defiance and anger? Are you in danger of being “put out” until you can show some respect?

Are you?

When we fail a test, the teacher always goes over the correct answers. Are you listening so you can make adjustments?

I don’t know about you, but I want to get it right. I want a good grade from God. I don’t need any outside distractions. I need to learn how to live. I need to learn how to love. I need to learn how to forgive. I need to learn what I am doing wrong. I need to make the necessary corrections. I need to be quiet so I can hear what I got right and what I got WRONG.

I’m still in school, God’s school and I am nowhere near graduating.
