Deuteronomy 8:11-14 Good News Translation (GNT)
11 “Make certain that you do not forget the Lord your God(a) 12 When you have all you want to eat and have built good houses to live in 13(b) and all your other possessions have increased, 14 be sure that you do not become proud and forget the Lord your God who rescued you(a)
It is easy for many of us to forget where we placed our keys. We often forget to remind ourselves of important events. There have been times when we forget what we were going to say. However, this scripture is one we want to remember.
We need to remember that once our prayers have been answered we NEVER forget the one who answered them.
I have to constantly remind myself of all the awesome and wondrous things God has delivered me from. I have encouraged my bible study class to keep a journal of prayers so that you can remember when they were answered. This visual should constantly encourage us “if he did it before, he will do it again”
The seasoned saints of our past had a saying ” when I think of the goodness of Jesus and all he’s done for me; my soul cries out Hallelujah, thank God for saving me”
Take a moment and just stroll down memory lane. Remember the times when God said yes. Remember the times when you wanted a yes but got a firm NO(saving us from an unforeseen cluster). Remember all the unexpected blessing that simply fell in your lap. Remember the times when you were so devastated you couldn’t imagine your heart ever healing. Remember the day healing came. Remember when you had nothing and suddenly were given something!
The scripture warns us not to forget after your prayers have been answered. When life is good, when things are well, when the money came, when the situation worked out remember WHO delivered you.
Take a minute to remember.
