Job 42:10New Living Translation (NLT)

10 When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before!

Most everyone knows the story of Job and how he was a man who loved God and lost everything. He had 3 friends that were trying to figure out what he had done that was so terrible to have God allow these things to happen to him.
After many speeches and back and forth. Job got up the nerve to ask God why this was happening to him.
Job quickly found out that he was no match to ask God anything.

Its the end of the story that blesses me when I read it.
Job’s possessions and health were not restored until he begin to pray for someone else.
How often do we go to God for someone else?
Does our prayers only consist of the people in our households? Maybe they extend a little further out? Maybe……

I know many people say ” I’m praying for you” but never get around to it. Most of us are consumed with our own problems and can only think of God making a way for us.
Other people’s problems don’t seem to really bother us as they should. Have we bore each others burdens as commanded in

Galatians 6:2English Standard Version (ESV)
2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

What would happen if we took today and only prayed for someone else.
What would happen? Would God restore our fortunes of wealth, health and joy? Maybe, just maybe

Join me today in praying for someone else. I know a lot of people who are sick and needs God’s healing touch. I will pray for them today.
Who will you be praying for?
