Exodus 4:11-12New International Version (NIV)
11 The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
One thing that terrifies many people is speaking in front of others. Fear can grip the most confident of individuals and bring thing down to a big bundle of nerves.
It’s much easier to speak in front of people who know you. You feel safe with them able to make mistakes with a laugh and a chuckle. But what about the people whom you have never met. How do you control the butterflies that are literally about to make you puke?
You remember what God to Moses. Moses had every excuse in the book for NOT wanting to be a spokesman for the Lord (some of them valid) But God answers him as only HE can. Your excuses will not get you off the hook. However, it will give God a reason to show other people just who HE is.
Some of you are facing “speaking” engagements right now. It may not be a formal invitation to speak at an organization but you know God is wanting you to say something to somebody. You are coming up with excuses. Let me give you some advice…excuses don’t work on God.
Don’t worry about what you’re going to say, If God told you to go and speak, Just GO!
