Psalm 27:14King James Version (KJV)

14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

waitor

As I was looking for focus scriptures to write about I came across a story about waiting on God.

It was so enlightening. It made me think…am I waiting on God?

I am eagerly waiting on God to answer what I consider to be a BIG prayer request. But what am I doing in-between the request and the answer. As I look at the scripture again, I realize I should be doing something.

Looking at the definition of waiting you find 1. a delayed action and 2. to serve

I had to do a self check. Am I waiting on God while I wait on God?

I realized that I should be eagerly asking can I do something for God. I should be checking back and forth with him trying to anticipate HIS needs before being asked. I should be eagerly accepting of modified request. I should be making his time with me enjoyable. I should  have a great attitude. I should be the best WAIT-ress he has.

If we changed the scripture to say

Serve the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: Serve, I say, on the Lord.

How much easier would our wait be?
