Psalm 127:1 English Standard Version (ESV)

127:1 Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.(a)

When house hunting the question my realtor gets asked the most is “who’s the builder?”

Homeowners want to know if they can trust the person that built the home of their 30 year debt. In newer homes the signs boast XYZ builders. You can easily go online and view samples of their work. Home owners, if not careful, can get caught up in the look of the home with little regard to how structurally sound the dwelling is. One episode of a popular home improvement show will quickly but things in perspective. A new home can come with as many flaws as an older one.

You have to know “who built this house?”

Why is it important?

Knowing who built the house and the methods use will tell you

Will the foundation crack? Will the roof leak? Are the windows efficient? What materials were used? etc

So it is with life. Who built your house? The house that covers your soul. The house that will keep out the enemy and the dangers that lurk in the darkness.

Is your foundation in the word solid enough so that you won’t crack? Are the windows to your soul able to keep out the winds? Can your roof (your mind) weather the storms of lies, fear and worry?

Who is your builder? What is your foundation made of? Will you be standing after the storms of life?

Allow God to build you up and nothing will be able to tear you down.
